Dear Southwood Elementary Families,

Welcome to Southwood Elementary, “Home of the Cubs”! We are delighted to have you as part of our community.

My name is Edmi Figueroa Solis, and I am honored to be your principal. It is a privilege to lead our school community and guide our scholars toward their full potential.

At Southwood Elementary, we prioritize the holistic development of our students. We ensure they have not only the academic resources they need to thrive but also the social-emotional skills that will enable them to achieve academic success.

I firmly believe that academic success is a collective endeavor involving our teachers, school staff, and families. Therefore, I encourage you to actively participate in school and district initiatives this coming school year to support your child’s academic growth.

Here are some ways you can support your children:

  • Ensure they attend school regularly and punctually.
  • Regularly monitor their academic work and grades on Skyward.
  • Contact your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns about their academic performance or any other concerns.

With your unwavering support, I am confident that we can have a fantastic school year filled with innovative experiences that will help our students reach their academic goals.

Warm regards,

Edmi Figueroa Solís
