Dear Parents and Community Members:

The faculty and staff of Southwood Elementary School would like to invite you to become even more involved in our school's decision-making process. We are beginning to form our School Advisory Council (SAC). The duties of the SAC will include:

• Participating in decision-making by assessing our needs, establishing priorities, defining goals, and evaluating the school improvement plan.

• Monitoring the progress and use of the School Improvement Plan.

• Assisting in developing the School Improvement Plan and increasing parent communication between parents, the school, and the community.

We are seeking membership for this vital team. Our SAC meets several times a year, each time for about an hour. Participation in the meetings is critical to our success.
